MEDIA IMPACT CAMPAIGN STRATEGY & DEVELOPMENT
I’ve helped execute numerous media impact campaigns that helped film, television, and radio projects add specific learning and change outcomes to their stories. Helping storytellers isolate their theory of change and audience is rewarding and impactful. Some of my favorites include using the documentary series Frontline to address eldercare in Georgia, civic dialogue guides from On Being’s Civil Conversation Project, and expanding the story and practical lessons in the film about His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu’s friendship in Mission: Joy.
PHILANTHROPIC STRATEGY, GRANT WRITING & RESEARCH
Fifteen years in philanthropy gave me an inside view of the business of giving and helping non-profits crack the code in finding and seeking funds is extremely rewarding. Every funder and grantee is different, but I help articulate the Venn diagram that connects the funder and grant-seeker while supporting how to tell that story to maximize funding.
COMMUNICATION STRATEGY & DIGITAL MARKETING SUPPORT
For over 30 years, I’ve been involved with persuasive non-profit communications in some form (from fundraising campaigns to program promotion to event development and more) and have stayed connected to evolving technology that has given new tools and platforms for organizations to connect with their audience authentically. I’ve led major website redesigns and email marketing campaigns, developed a social media presence, created event collateral, gathered and evaluated metrics on all, and much more.
QUALITATIVE & QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH DESIGN & ANALYSIS
From program evaluation to original social science research, learning how audiences understand the content or a particular topic adds the missing piece to a well-developed operational strategy, which endlessly fascinates me and supports better design. I’ve created everything from a simple Google questionnaire after a webinar to a nationally-represented 100+ question survey.
