There are a million things to say about New Mexico, taken from what is written in my heart, traveling through my blood and nerves, and serving as a literal foundation and grounding for all the ways I work and experience the world. Putting them all here is a work in progress.

I returned to my beloved homeland of New Mexico living out my version of “querencia” a beautiful, nuanced Spanish word that means love of land, love of home, love of place. After the untimely death of my husband several years ago, I began to think about my roots and how they shaped and supported me through trials and triumphs—how the horizon in the west expanded my perspective, how the mountain desert land grounded me, and how the vast blue sky increased my hope.
